From the back of The Forbidden Game.
(UK ed. Scholastic 1995)

Lisa Jane Smith realized she wanted to be a writer sometime between kindergarten and first grade. She got the idea for her first published book while baby-sitting in high school, and wrote it while attending college at the University of California at Santa Barbara (in between classes of course).

Dreams and Nightmares have always fascinated her. Many of her books, including The Forbidden Game trilogy, are based on her own nightmares and those of her friends. At times she stops in the middle of a particularly frightening dream and thinks, "This is awful. I sure hope I remember it when I wake up!"

She lives in a rambling house in the Bay Area of northern California with one dog, three cats, and about ten thousand books.

From the back of Dark Visions.
(UK ed. HarperCollins 1996)

Lisa Jane Smith started writing in elementary school and has never been able to break the habit. She wrote her first published book while attending college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, after which she went on to teach public school for several years. She still likes to encourage young writers to express themselves.

While she makes no claim to psychic powers, she is firmly convinced that streetlights go off at night when she passes. The author of such trilogies as the Forbidden Games, she likes writing about the supernatural because it's a great forum for the battle between good and evil.

She lives in the Bay Area of Northern California where the Dark Visions trilogy is set.

Firstly, should you wish to use these covers for making images for your websites, feel free. The only thing I ask is that you don't direct-link to images here. It might be nice to provide a link back here so that other people looking for LJS images know where to find them.

Images on this site have either been scanned in by myself, located from various international Amazon sites, or donated by kind visitors. Thanks go to Poppy, Midnight and Lorraine for several of the covers.
