While I’m not planning on making this a regular habit (this is an L.J. Smith fanfiction site, after all), so many things have happened over the past couple of days that I’m going to make a post here summing up the Vampire Diaries TV series news and giving you some links to more information and a few goodies.
First of all, there’s now a video clip available with a few scenes from the TV series for you to get a taster of what the show will be like. Then there are quite a few images from the TV series cropping up, including what looks like to be the title card.
In scheduling news, it’s replacing Smallville in the 8pm Thursday slot (SV is moving to 8pm Friday), pairing it up with Supernatural. There’s also a new synopsis of the series up.
And last, but most certainly not least, Whitmore is out, and the boys are now Stefan and Damon Salvatore, as they should be! Vee over on Vampire-Diaries.net had a twitter conversation with producer, Julie Plec, to confirm this, so it’s all legit. :)
So, lots happening, and there’s no sign of an end to the excitement yet. Keep an eye out on the Vampire-Diaries.net for more news and information.

I hadn’t been keeping up with the VD news, but I saw a trailer on TV yesterday, dug into what’s going on, and wrote a bit of a complaint on my site about how they’re targeting the show to Twilight fans so blatantly. I’m very concerned they won’t let Vampire Diaries have its own identity and are just using it to make a cliche Twilight ripoff.

I’m kind of looking forward to watching this, because anything to do with vampires is all right with me. :)The video clip was good, and it doesn’t really look like a Twilight rip-off to me. I dunno. I’ll have to withhold judgement until I watch the whole thing. And if they gear it a little bit towards Twilight fans, that’s okay. It’s a big fan base.
